During that time Selena specialized in neurosurgery. She gained her OR experience by assisting in craniotomies for primary & metastatic tumors and cerebral hemorrhages as well as laminectomies, discectomies, and cervical & lumbar fusions.<\/p>\n Prior to becoming a Physician Assistant, Selena worked as a Spanish Medical Interpreter at Baystate Medical Center in Massachusetts. Loving to travel, Selena served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Fiji, and has also lived in Ecuador and Costa Rica. She is an avid runner and has completed three marathons including the Boston Marathon.
